Where we train

Why train with Lone Star Civil

We are a working civil contractor first. The academy exists because we know exactly how hard it is to find operators who are ready on day one.

01

Taught by working operators

Your instructors run these machines on live Lone Star Civil sites. You learn how the work is actually done, not how a manual says it should be.

02

Seat time, not slideshows

You are in the cab from day one. Classroom theory is kept to what you genuinely need before you start the engine.

03

Small intakes

Ten seats per intake. Enough machine time per student to build real competence, not a queue waiting for a turn.

04

Built for hiring

We train the operators we would want on our own crews, and we tell you honestly what the local market is looking for.

Our courses

Short, focused programs on the machines that keep a civil site moving.

Common questions

Do I need any experience to start?+

No. Every equipment course is built to take a complete beginner to competent operator. Some prior site experience helps on the dozer course, but it is not required.

How old do I have to be?+

You must be 18 or older to operate equipment on our training ground.

What should I bring?+

Steel-toe boots and long trousers. We provide hard hats, hi-vis and eye protection, along with everything else you will need on the day.

Do you help with job placement?+

Yes, we help with job placements. It is not guaranteed, but we hire from our own courses and we are happy to point strong graduates towards contacts across San Antonio.

How do I pay?+

Reach out and we will arrange payment with you directly. Ask us about splitting tuition across the course if that helps.

Is there a way to earn a wage while I train?+

We are building a Registered Apprenticeship pathway that pairs paid on-the-job training with related instruction here at the academy. It is not open yet — see the apprenticeship page to register your interest.
